Phosphogypsum is the solid waste discharged from the production of phosphate fertilizer and phosphoric acid, and about 4.5-5t phosphogypsum is produced for every 1t phosphoric acid. Phosphogypsum is divided into dihydrous gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O) and hemihydrous gypsum (CaSO4·1/2H2O), with dihydrous gypsum being the majority. In addition to calcium sulfate, phosphogypsum also contains a small amount of phosphoric acid, silicon, magnesium, iron, aluminum, organic impurities, etc. Stacking phosphogypsum not only occupies a large amount of land, but also causes environmental pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to seek reasonable utilization of phosphogypsum to achieve sustainable development of phosphate fertilizer industry and high utilization of phosphogypsum. It not only effectively promotes the further development of the national environmental protection circular economy, but also greatly reduces the mining amount of gypsum and protects resources.
